Job summary

For our project in Belgium we are recruiting a local Technical Support Specialist.
The Technical Support Specialist main responsibility is to effectively and efficiently acquire requirements of applications in Belgium to successfully deliver and implement the project in Belgium and China. You will communicate and collaborate with the upper management and IT team in China; and different authorities in Belgium, such as Federal Customs, Airport Administration, Customs Brokers and others.
Job Location: Belgium, Brussels or Liege.

Job description

  • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
  • Monitor and track project progress
  • Report and escalate to management as needed
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation • Meet with clients to take detailed ordering briefs and clarify specific requirements of the project
  • Attend conferences and training as required to maintain proficiency
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
  • Develop spreadsheets, diagrams and process maps to document needs

Job qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of Java development experience
  • Strong understanding of SDLC and Agile procedures to predict the development teams’ needs
  • Experience in Software Development
  • Strong knowledge of SOAP
  • Understanding and experience working with Web service development www.owinfo.net
  • Understanding of MQ for creating SOA
  • Website designing
  • Thrives in a highly collaborative, fast paced environment
  • Solid experience working with Architecture teams • Passionate commitment to delivering products on time
  • Comfortable with presenting project readouts to Executive level audience
  • Ability to understand and represent both the business and technology
  • Excellent communicator in person, over the phone and through email
  • Self-motivated, organized • Travel may be up to 10%
  • Language skills: English as a must, Dutch or French as a must, Chinese not a must but a plus.
