THE EPP GROUP IN THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT
is seeking to recruit a Human Resources Assistant (contractual staff, FGIII) for its Brussels Office.

The Group of the European People's Party (EPP Group) is the largest political group in the European Parliament. Its multinational secretariat provides political, administrative and technical support to its 216 MEPs.

The Human Resources Unit provides a wide range of HR services and advice to the managers and staff of the EPP Group’s Secretariat. It is responsible for the implementation of HR policies, the HR planning and budgeting, staff career, staff recruitment and selection, professional training and liaison with DG PERS of the European Parliament.

Employment will be for a period of 1 year, as a maternity replacement, with a possibility of extension. Basic salary ranges from 2.600 € to 4.290 € depending on the length of previous professional experience. Benefits apply.

Job qualifications

The Human Resources Assistant fulfils an administrative support function within the EPP Group Secretariat and carries out, under the supervision of the Head of Unit and the administrator, his/her functions and duties:

 Preparing and organising meetings of selection committees (booking meeting rooms and catering services, sending invitations, welcoming candidates, preparing meetings’ documents, etc.);
 Preparing and contributing to the management of selection procedures (drafting vacancy notices, launching publications, screening applications and checking their eligibility, preparing minutes and other documents linked to the selection procedure);
 Ensuring that data regarding staff are properly and timely entered into the HR databases;
 Reporting on on-going selection procedure(s) and providing statistical information concerning the files under his/her responsibility;
 Preparing periodic and ad-hoc statistics, including graphs, on the activities of the Unit;
 Providing administrative support to the Head of the HR Unit and the HR Adviser in particular as regards the follow-up of staff matters, the drafting of documents, scheduling appointments and meetings, contacts with the EP administration;
 Supporting and applying rules related to other specific HR matters;
 Translating notes, reports and other documents if needed;
 Organising meetings and any other activity necessary for the HR Unit to function properly;
 Providing back-up and additional assistance to other members of the Unit and performing any other tasks related to his/her area of competence.

Job requirements Candidates must have:

o a post-secondary education in the field of Human Resources or other relevant disciplines attested by a diploma followed by at least 2 years’ full-time professional experience similar to the duties as described in the job description OR a level of secondary education attested by a diploma giving access to higher education followed by at least 6 years’ full-time relevant professional experience similar to the duties as described in the job description;

o for work purpose, a very good knowledge of French and English; 
o a knowledge of other EU languages will be considered as a strong asset;
o a very good knowledge of Microsoft Office, in particular of Word and Excel;
o ability to learn quickly new IT web applications in the HR field;
o a knowledge of the EU Staff Regulations will be an asset.
